About me ...
Since studying painting, which has been a lifelong process, I have been working on exploring the unreal and dreamlike and occasionally also the depths of the unconscious and expanding them through the "fantastic" and "impossible" in order to express them in a visual language that is possible for me.
„Oculus non vidit, nec auris audivit.“
What the eye has not seen, nor the ear heard.
My painting is inspired by many philosophical aspects and perspectives of Buddhism, Hinduism and also the Tao philosophy.
I have also been influenced by a number of artists whose work and painting techniques I greatly appreciate. These include Leonardo da Vinci and Gerhard Richter, but also Max Ernst, Carl-W. Röhrig, Franz Marc, Zao Wou-Ki and Jean Miotte, to name but a few.
I paint a world behind the visible world - a world of fantasy and the mind, sometimes frightening, sometimes beautiful, from abstract to figurative - the reality behind the mirror of reality.
My works have a message that often only reveals itself after a longer period of viewing. My works are multimedia, which means that I use all the materials and possibilities available to me. Be it oil paint, acrylic paint, pastel chalk, canvas or cardboard, I also use digital solutions to give form to my thoughts.
My works can be found with collectors in Germany, Austria,
Switzerland and also in India.
Sven Joerg Hansen
Painter and graphic artist
"From abstraction to the reality behind it is the journey that the viewer takes in Sven's pictures. The reality behind the illusion that we call life.
A world behind the visible world, the world of the mind.
The viewer travels back in time, from the abstract to the object, to the soul.
Inspired by Buddhism, Hinduism and Tao, the stories of Sven's work are the immeasurable "spirit landscape" of the collective consciousness, the "soul landscape" of the human being. Inscrutable journeys, indescribable in words or images that can only be told with intense colour and passion."
